Eligibility & Course Duration
MBBS / BDS / AYUSH
- 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology & English
- Minimum aggregate % as per category & regulations (often 50% for General, relaxation for reserved)
- Must qualify NEET-UG with required cut-off percentile
- Age & other eligibility as per NMC / NTA notifications
Nursing / Paramedical
- 10+2 in PCB or sometimes PCM/PCB depending on course
- Minimum marks as per university / state norms
- Some courses use NEET-UG, others use separate entrance / merit-based selection
- Course duration: 3 – 4.5 years for most B.Sc / professional programs
Medical Entrance Exams & Counselling
Most undergraduate medical seats in India are filled through NEET-UG followed by central and state-level counselling. Some Nursing and Paramedical courses may have separate entrance tests or merit-based admissions.

AIIMS & Government Medical Colleges (Overview)
India has a wide network of government medical institutions that offer MBBS and other medical programs at subsidised fees. Seats are highly competitive and primarily filled through NEET-UG counselling.
AIIMS & Central Institutes
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and a few other central institutes are among the top MBBS destinations in India.

Admissions are done through NEET-UG with MCC (AIQ) counselling.
Government Medical Colleges (State)
Every state has its own set of Government Medical Colleges offering MBBS, BDS and sometimes B.Sc Nursing & Paramedical courses.
